Video Game Accessibility App

A step to making a streamline of communication between the player, and the accessibility team.

A new line of communication

Since I was a child, I have been playing video games with glaring user experience issues that I did not know how to solve. Although I now want to make a career out of fixing these issues, there are many players out there who wish to have a quick and easy fix to these issues, and now more than ever, it seems that accessibility teams and game developers seem to lack a line of communication between themselves and the player base. I took it upon myself to design an app where all large game companies accessibility emails are pre loaded into the app, so that any player may send a message to the selected accessibility team.

Included on this page is a user flow template of what a perspective user might see when they load up the app. Players will be greeted by a welcome screen, and brought to a dropdown menu where they will select the company which creates their favorite games. From there, players will be able to describe, list, and upload images relating to their specific accessibility problem relating to the game. Creating this line of communication in one app will help players immensely when trying to make their issues more known and acknowledged by developers.

Obviously, this app is a mere mockup at the moment. Although I have done A/B testing in order to figure out what features would be best on a communication app such as this, I wish to take this a step further and conduct further usability testing, and other studies in order to make this app a reality. This app will continue to be a work in progress until I have more necessary skills to progress this piece of technology.
